FT: Uganda 59-10 Botswana

Uganda Rugby Cranes defeated Botswana 59-10 at Kyandodo Rugby Grounds on Saturday to gain promotion to the Rugby Tier 1A replacing Tunisia who got relegated last week.

Centre, Michael Wokorach was flawless with his passing but also scored the opening try that Kevin Makmot converted to give Uganda an early 7-0 lead. Botswana responded with a penalty, but it’s all they could manage in the first half.

Ronald Musajjagulyango stretched the lead, before Justin Kimono scored his first try of the tournament. Makmot converted Musajja’s try but failed on Kimono’s.

The Easy Money Rhinos’ scrum half later faltered on Scot Olouch’s touch down, but was on point after Wokorach’s.

Uganda went into half time leading 38-3 but the June 2015 Uganda Sports Press Association sports personalities of the month weren’t done.

Olouch benefited from John Wandicho’s persistence to get his second try and again Makmot did what he does best with boot.

John Duncan introduced hooker Alex Mubiru for Cyrus Wathum and captain Brian Odong for Asuman Mugerwa. Wokorach continued with his man of the match performance when he again touched and the try was converted by James Ijongat who had come on for Makmot.
