Friendly Game:

  • FT’ Uganda Kobs 2 – 0 SC Villa

Kezironi Kizito and second half substitute, Farouk Miya scored for the Uganda U-23 side as they defeated SC Villa in a trial match at Nakivubo War memorial stadium on Saturday.

Kizito met Fahad Muhammed Hassan’s pin point delivery that had followed a well played in ball from the right via right back, Ibrahim Kiyemba on 43 minutes.

Before the strike, both sides had played with caution as they sought for a break through.

The Kobs team skipper, Farouk Miya wrapped it up 13 minutes from full time following a handball call in the forbidden area.

The Kobs have confirmed to play Express on Tuesday at Mutesa II memorial Stadium Wakulukuku in yet another build up fixture before the return leg against Egypt on 1st August 2015.

Uganda faces an uphill task ahead of the return leg with a 4-0 deficit from the first match played at the El Borg Arab stadium in Alexanderia.

The head coach, Milutin Sredojevic remains opportmistic his charges will stage a formidable performance at home, saying;

The team morale is steadily picking up and hopefully we shall perform better than we did in Egypt.

SC Villa’s loss was the second for new coach, Antonio Flores since taking charge of the team.

Last week Maroons Football club beat SC Villa 4-3 on penalties following a barren draw to win the Idd Cup.
