The draw for the preliminary round of the 2016 CAF Champions League and the 13th Edition of the CAF Confederation Cup was conducted on Friday, 11 December 2015 in Dakar, Senegal.
Vipers will host Nigerian Side Enyimba on the weekend of 12, 13th and 14th February,2016 at home while the return fixture between 25thand 27th the same month.
Victory for Vipers at this stage will hand them a ticket to play against either Lioli (Lesotho) or Vital’O of Burundi at the next round.
SC Villa Jogoo winners of the Uganda Cup have been a handed a tie against Khartoum Watani of Sudan, which recently signed former KCCA F.C winger, Michael Birungi.
SC Villa will host the return leg in the Confederation Cup.
The first leg matches to be played between 11th, 12th and 13th March while the return leg 18th, 19th and 20th March, 2016.
The winner of this round takes on either JKU (Zanzibar or Gaborone (Botswana).
The Champions League winner will qualify for the 2016 FIFA Club World Cup, and earn a right to play in the 2017 CAF Super Cup against the winner of the Confederations Cup.
TP Mazembe of Congo DR are the reigning Champions League winners while Etoile Du Sahel of Algeria are the CAF Confederations Cup holders.
