Since childhood, towering striker, Davis Kasirye has been itching to make a mark.

From primary school, Kasirye, who stands at 6 feet tall harbored two dreams – to sign a lucrative professional employment contract and then feature for the national team – Uganda Cranes.

At just 22 years, he has achieved the two prime life ambitions.

On Tuesday, 26th July 2016, Kasirye previously looked at a failure and weakling at three Uganda Premier League clubs (Express, BUL and Uganda Revenue Authority) signed a two year contract at Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) side, Motema Pembe for a juicy transfer fee of $90,000.

“This is a dream come true. I thank God, my family and all who have also encouraged me never to give up in this struggle. I also thank my agent, Ronnie Santos” he sighed as he spoke to Kawowo Sports from Kinshaha where he sealed the deal.

The employment agreement signed in the midst of his former pay masters at Rayon Sports is expected to keep him at the club for at least two seasons with potentiality of extension – subject to performance.

Kasirye, who by the time of this dream transfer was still committed to the Rwandese 2016 Peace Cup winners, Rayon Sports, becomes the second Ugandan to play for the same side after former Victors’ forward, Yudah Mugalu (now at Lweza).

He joins the ever swelling list of prominent Ugandan footballers who have tasted the juicy transfer fees and hefty match day allowance served raw by the Congolese money moguls.

Mike Mutyaba and Patrick Ochan played for TP Mazembe whilst Yunus Sentamu was at AS Vita.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
