Record Bika Bya Baganda football tournament winners, Mmamba Gabunga started their quest for a 11th title with a resounding 3-0 victory over Mutima Musagi at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Eric ‘Bucha’ Ssebuguzi, Benjamin Ssemango and Salim Sulaiman Kiyegga were on target for the mighty Mmamba Gabunga side who also had other experienced players in Elukana Nkugwa and Brian ‘Ziggi’ Bwette.

Mmamba Gabunga is the tournament record winners with ten titles to their name.

The star studded team won in 1952, 1956, 1959, 1964, 1965, 1989, 1994, 2003, 2011 and lately on 2014.

In the would be opening match on the day, Mutima Muyanja earned three points and goals apiece after Kiyomo failed to show up for the fixture.

The tournament takes a day’s break and will resume on Wednesday with a double header.

Ngabi Nyunga hosts Njaza in the opener whilst Nte will entertain Ngo in the subsequent game at Wankulukuku.

Mbogo is the defending champion.
