Sevens Final: Heathens 29-24 Kobs

Kobs succumbed to a 29-24 defeat to Heathens in the final of the National Sevens held at Kyadondo Rugby Grounds on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Kobs were crowned winners of the title after edging Heathens on points’ difference.

All Kobs needed was to make the final and their eventual loss to the hosts didn’t matter as they went home the happier of the two arch rivals.

Philip Wokorach put up another MVP show to help Heathens clinch their second circuit of the five.

Both Kobs and Heathens tied on 78 points but the Legends side edged their rivals because of scoring more tries throughout the five events.

Kobs, the overall winners took home 2.5M while Heathens bagged 2M. Third placed Toyota Buffaloes took 1.5M.

Kobs’ Adrian Kasiito and Heathens’ Lawrence Ssebuliba were selected as joint MVPs of the entire championship and each took home 250,000 USHS.
