Uganda Lady Rugby Cranes have claimed their second win in the Africa 7s tournament in Harare after they downed Tunisia 17-12 on Saturday.

The side came off a pleasant start thanks to their 12-10 triumph against Madagascar in their opener.

Cranes needed two tries from Grace Auma and captain Emmanuela Oroma, Samiya Ayikoru converting successfully to defeat Tunisia.

The scores meant Ayikoru was posting her second conversion, Auma touching for the second time in the tournament as well.

Uganda seem to be coping well despite the fact that the side was poorly funded ahead of the showpiece.

Uganda was drawn in Pool A alongside Kenya, Madagascar and Tunisia with a slot available for the winners in next year’s World Rugby Women Series qualifiers.

Pool B has South Africa, Namibia, Senegal and Zimbabwe. The Lady Cranes made top two in Africa seven years ago, a feat that saw them qualify for the 2009 World Rugby Cup Sevens in Dubai.
