The Uganda Cranes team of players and accompanying officials returned from Africa in the early hours of Sunday morning aboard Ethiopian Airways from Addis Ababa.
Upon return from the trip that saw Uganda lose 1-0 to Togo in the international friendly match and draw 0-0 with Ghana Black Stars in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic looks forward towards the country’s future engagements.
Planning for our next game (against Congo Brazzaville) starts immediately.
There is no room for relaxing. The details shall be released at the FUFA Press conference on Wednesday
Most players returned to their respective clubs apart from those who play in South Africa (Dennis Onyango, Hamis Kiiza, Geofrey Massa and Khalid Aucho), Geofrey ‘Baba’ Kizito and all the locally based crop.
The foreign based players who connected directly to their clubs are Dennis Iguma (Lebabon), Yunus Sentamu (Finnland), William Luwagga Kizito (Portugal), Tonny Mawejje (Iceland) and goalie Salim Jamal Magoola (Sudan).
Isaac Isinde remained in Ethiopia where the team had a stop over at Addis Ababa whilst Murushid Jjuuko will fly to Tanzania where he plies his trade with Simba.
The local based players on the team included; Nico Wakiro Wadada (Vipers), Hassan Wasswa Mawanda (Vipers), Benjamin Ochan (KCCA) and Joseph Benson Ochaya (KCCA).
There is a big possibility that the Cranes will play in an international build up before the Congo Brazzaville fixture in Kampala next month.
