Uganda Cup Semifinal Fixtures (Legends)

Pirates vs. Kobs – 2.30pm

Buffaloes vs. Heathens – 4.30pm

Kobs’ treble credentials will be put to test Saturday afternoon when they take on Black Pirates in the semifinals of the Uganda Cup at Legends Rugby Club.

Dam Miriko’s side made light work of Rhinos last weekend and are favourites against the Marvin Odong led Pirates.

“We want to take each game at a time and we are confident we can win,” Kobs captain Oscar Kalyango told Kawowo Sports ahead of the clash.

Kobs relied on their sleek back line to ease past the recently moneyed Rhinos.

Kalyango, winger Michael Amolo, fly half James Ijongat and winger Keith Sseruyange all crossed the white chalk to push the league champions into the semis.

“Our game plan worked against Rhinos and we shall try to maintain the momentum in the semis,” Kalyango added.

Pirates, inspired by Odong, ran over Makerere Impis in the quarterfinals. The eighth man scored two tries for the 2007 winners in a 21-03 win.

“We hope to play as well as we did in the second half of the quarterfinal,” Pirates’ scrum half Conrad Wanyama told this website ahead of the game.

All the three Pirates tries came in the second half of the game.

The other semifinal encounter will see defending champions Heathens tussle it out with Buffaloes.

Heathens walked over Mutoni Warriors in the quarters while Buffaloes came from behind to defeat Sadolin Mongers 30-25 at Kyadondo.
