The Uganda Cranes contingent for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations became the last country to arrive in Gabon ahead of the continental championship.

23 players and officials whose number could not be easily established arrived at the busy Libreville Leon M’ba International Airport in Gabon on Saturday at noon (about 2 p.m East African Standard Time).

Uganda’s arrival had followed that of Mali, who also arrived on Saturday.

The other 13 countries (with the exception of the hosts) had already set foot in the humid West African country.

The team had an overnight stop over in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from Dubai where they had camped for the past fortnight featuring in a couple of international build up matches

Already, the country’s state minister of sports, Charles Bakabulindi is in Gabon having traveled a day earlier alongside the National Council of Sports chairman John Bosco Onyik and the commissioner of sports, Marex Omara Apitta.

Uganda Cranes contingent will then fly to Port Gentil where Group D is based.
