Nigeria head coach, Gernot Rohr is in Gabon not with the Super Eagles but for commentary reasons with Radio France International.

He has blamed the standards at the on-going 2017 Africa Cup of Nations are being affected by the poor playing surfaces. Rohr spoke to Kawowo Sports in Libreville, Gabon.
It is difficult to play good football on the poor pitches because the players cannot express themselves freely
Players and the technical benches have complained about the standard and quality of all the playing surfaces in Gabon from the Stade De L’Amitie, Oyem, Franceville and Port Gentil.
The most complaints have come from the sandy Stade De Port Gentil which was the home for Group D that housed Uganda, Egypt, Mali and Ghana.
“Players and coaches are not satisfied with the playing surface” he added as quoted by African Football.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan also blamed the Port Gentil Stadium playing surface after his team defeated Uganda 1-0 in a Group D match played last Tuesday.
“This pitch is not very good as there is a lot of sand which makes it hard,” Gyan said.
A number of players were injured resulting from the pitch as early as match day four.
