SC Villa coach Wasswa Bbosa has praised the character of his players after a convincing 4-1 win over Onduparaka.

The Jogoos were dominant from the first whistle and despite missing an early penalty; they went on to beat ‘The Caterpillars’ in a comfortable but stylish manner.

“I congratulate my players for the win,” he told Kawowo Sports. “But the most important in all this was their character and attitude through the 90 minutes,” he added.

Not even missing a penalty early on deterred them from destroying their opponents and I doubt there was any deserving winner than us on the day.

The game was the Jogoos’ first at Masaka Recreation Ground but attracted a mammoth crowd who cheered the blues on.

The fans were fantastic and if they give us this or more in every game we play here, then we can have a fortress. I like the stadium, the pitch is wide and although it needs some improvement, it is a good one.

Okwi singled out for praise

The former Uganda Cranes midfielder however singled out praise for striker Emmanuel Okwi for praise after he grabbed a hat trick.

He gives more than goals going forward. A team player whose character and attitude has been fantastic since he joined us.

Okwi’s three goals on the day took his tally to six in as many games for the club.
