Former Kenya Premier League champions, Sofapaka earned their second successive league win under Sam Ssimbwa with a hard fought 2-1 win over Mathare United over the weekend.

George Maelo and Humphrey Okot scored the goals for the Batoto Mungu who now move to 4th on the 18-team log with 6 points, same as AFC Leopards, Gor Mahia and Sony Sugars.

James Kasibante, former URA and SC Villa left winger assisted one of the goals whilst goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya and defender Jonathan Mugabi also featured for Ssimbwa’s side.

Ex-SC Victoria University and KCCA forward Petit Wanok also featured for Sofapaka whilst veteran midfielder Johnson Bagoole started on the bench.
