Bright Stars coach Fred Kajoba has attributed his side’s poor form to salary arrears revealing the team hasn’t been paid for nine months and questionable refereeing.

Kojoba revealed this to the press in the aftermath of a 2-1 loss to champions KCCA at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday after his charges continued with a winless streak that stretches to seven games.

“Credit to the boys for the fighting spirit,” he started. “But we never deserved to win against a team that trains every day, well-motivated and paid on time,” he added.

We only train a day or two to the matches and haven’t been paid for nine months. It’s always difficult with no motivation and with the kind of preparation.

Away from the lack of motivation, Kajoba also rubbished match official David Oula for biased officiating on the day.

It was never a penalty for KCCA but he gave it away. He then denied us a clear one and I believe other factors constant, the result would have been different with a better referee.

Bright Stars form

The side find themselves 9th on the log with 27 points, just five above safety. They have won a mere 5 games but only one in the previous 8 league outings, drawn 12 and lost 7.

The last time they won a league match was against Lweza on February 02, 2017.
