Abdallah Mubiru will watch Police FC’s league encounter with Kirinya Jinja SS from the stand after he earned a two match touchline ban.

The soft spoken tactician was banned for allegedly physically attacking referee Mashood Ssali who sent him off the bench in the 2-2 draw with KCCA on Tuesday.

Though not convinced with a ban and fine without hearing from his side, Mubiru is optimistic the technical staff will do the job against fellow relegation candidates.

“The preparations have been good,” he told Kawowo Sports. “It will be tough a game given the situation of the two sides on the log but even with me not on the bench, I trust my staff to do the job,” he added.

The Cops, who won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Kavumba, welcome over five KCCA players who missed the draw with the Kasasiro since they were ineligible to play against their parent club.

“Their return gives us more options and 2-3 of them will make the starting eleven on the day.

But the 2005 league champions will still miss the services of defender Sakka Mpiima (injured) while Michael Birungi is down with malaria.

Eleventh on the log with 25 points after 23 games, Police have a chance to move as high as 9th with maximum points.

The Students are minus defensive midfielder Godfrey Akol (suspended) while Livingstone Mulondo is a doubt for the game.

With 20 points from 22 games, the Students can jump out of the relation zone with maximum points if results elsewhere go their way.
