KCCA will be eager to avoid the paths taken by giants SC Villa and Vipers among others who have suffered shock exits from the Uganda Cup against lower division sides when they visit Kataka on Tuesday.

The Kasasiro travel to the Far East full on confidence after a slim but important 1-0 victory over Egypt’s El Masry in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday but coach Mike Mutebi is wary of the threat posed by the FUFA Big League side.

“In Cup competitions, everything is possible,” he said. “But we shall treat the game the way we treated one against El Masry and any other opponents by offering our best and also have respect for the opponents,” he added.

In what is the only Round of 16 tie remaining on the fixture, the Kasasiro will be favourites to set up an exciting quarter final tie with nemesis Police FC but can’t be sure against a side, 8th on the log in the Rwenzori Group.

Mutebi has promised to rotate part of his squad with the return match against El Masry in mind but the side will miss the services of Timothy Awany and Muzamiru Mutyaba (injured) and Habib Kavuma, who the gaffer says is suspended.

Vincent Kayizzi, Isaac Kirabira, Robert Ssentongo and Ivan Ntege are all poised to start for the Kasasiro who eliminated lower division sides, Koboko Rising Stars and Lungujja Galaxy in style.
