Brian Majwega and Derrick Nsibambi scored twice each as KCCA overcame FUFA Big League side Kataka FC 5-2 in Mbale to reach the quarter finals of the Uganda Cup.

Majwega put the visitors into the lead after 22 minutes at a fully packed Nabini playground after the hosts’ goalie parried Ivan Ntege’s fierce attempt into his path.

But the lead lasted 18 minutes thanks to Junior Amanya well taken low drive from a free kick near the edge of the area.

Five minutes later, Kataka took the lead when Nassur Nandala scored after another ball from a set piece hit the post and found him unmarked inside the six yard area to send the home fans into pandemonium.

At the start of the second half, Mike Mutebi was forced to make three changes with Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Paul Mucureezi and Derrick Nsibambi replacing Robert Ssentongo, Ivan Ntege and Vincent Kayizzi respectively.

But it took another long wait till the 69th minute when Derrick Onyanyi handled the ball in the area and Majwega sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to level matters.

With five minutes to the final whistle, Nsibambi headed home Mucureezi well weighed cross into the net before an own goal at the death made it 4-2.

There was more time for the score line to change as Nsibambi bagged his brace with a late goal to take his Uganda Cup goal tally to 7 goals.

The Kasasiro, who last won the competition in 2004 now set up a quarter final date with Police FC to find out who joins Express, Paidha Black Angels and Sadolin Paints in the last four.
