Experienced CAF ‘A’ licenced and Uganda U-23 assistant tactician Frank ‘Video’ Anyau has agreed terms at newly promoted Uganda Premier League club, Mbarara City.

Anyau, who has been at Jinja side, Bul agreed a two-year deal with the club owned by Western Region Youth member of parliament, Mwine Mpaka.

Originally ‘frozen’ and frustrated by fans in Jinja, management decided to sideline him although they continued to pay him his wages and salaries as Peter Onen took over as head coach.

He spent a long spell watching BUL’s training sessions and matches from the general stands.

Anyau will bring his rich wealth of experience since he has spent close to 20 years in coaching.

Having coached the senior national team, U-20 side and a wide range of local clubs – Dairy F.C, Police F.C, Express F.C, Entebbe F.C, FUFA Big League side Baza Holdings, SC Villa Jogoo (as technical director and coach on the continental games) and recently BUL, Anyau’s record and experience emits volume.

He will work along with Richard Makumbi who helped the team secure promotion.

Mbarara City attained promotion alongside the overall FUFA Big League champions Maroons and Masavu to replace the relegated Sadolin Paints, JMC Hippos and Lweza.

David Isabirye is a senior staff writer for Kawowo Sports where he covers most of the major events.
