Uganda is set to host a successful 2017 Africa Netball Championship that starts this Saturday at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium in Kampala.

Uganda Netball Federation president, Suzan Anek expects a great tournament with a hospitable time for all the participating countries and fans alike.

“Arrangements to have a successful tournament have been on for a long time now. We expect all the necessary logistics to be in place, good security, team and officials’ accommodation all in place,” Anek disclosed to Kawowo Sports.

Host country preparation:

The home side Uganda has been training well for the past 2 months with non residential drills at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

For the last week, the team commenced residential training and shifted base to the Lugogo Indoor facility.

The arrival of Lightening Lougborbough star shooter, Peace Proscovia added vigour and steam to the camp.

“I am ready to play for the team. I will share my experience with the rest of the players on the team,” Peace said upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport.

Teams’ arrival:

Malawi were the early birds of the five other visitors expected.

The lady Flames arrived in the country on Monday and are expected to use the rest of the days for the much desired acclimatization.
