On Friday, August 4, Ivan Lumanyika logged eleven minutes for KIU Titans in their 64-56 loss to Power. The big man was scoreless on two attempts but picked a couple of rebounds and blocked a shot.

That is likely the last action for the center at the Kansanga based side as they have decide to let him go after just a year and a half.

According to KIU Titans supremo Nasser Sserunjogi, Lumayika is “unserious” thus the decision to waive him.

“We are done with Lumanyika. I don’t think you will see him again don that (KIU) jersey,” Sserunjogi, who is also the FUBA Vice President – Admistration told Kawowo Sports. “He is very unserious and doesn’t want to practice,” he added.

A replacement has already been found for Lumanyika who joined Titans fro UCU Canons last year. Mwalimu Herry Kijogoo from Tanzanian side Vijana will play for KIU starting in the second round.

“Mwalimu Herry Kijogoo has joined from Vijana BC. He is a big man and decent.”

KIU start the second round against City Oilers next Friday.
