Quarterfinal Result

  • Morogoro SS (Tanzania) 0 (2) – 0 (1) Amus College School

Morogoro Secondary School became the first boys’ football team to advance for the semifinals of the East African Secondary School Games.

The host school ejected Uganda’s Amus College School 2-1 in post-match penalties after normal time of this end-to-end game produced no clear cut winner with a goal-less draw at the Ujenzi playground.

The tense game watched by a big crowd produced thrilling action with either side failing to find the back of the net.

In the shootout, Morogoro S.S goalkeeper Ezekiel F. Ezekiel was the hero was three penalty saves and Amus College blasted over one.

Mathias Kasadha, Roy Olara and Musa Suuna all had their shots saved by goalkeeper Ezekiel as Idi Jamil Rashid scored.

Only forward Ijosiga Mudasir managed to scored his kick.

For Morogoro S.S, Bakari Kiiko, Boniface Mkami and Stephano L. Stephano also had their kicks saved by the Amus College goalkeeper Usama Chagamo.

Morogoro S.S’s goals came from Maulid Emil and the man of the moment goalkeeper Ezekiel.

The other three quarterfinals

Three other Tanzanian teams await their feat at the last four stage; Kyadondo SS played Mbeya Day, CGF Kigali took on Urambo Day and Nsumba tussled St Mary’s Kitende.

Thursday is resting day where the national and cultural festivities will be observed before the semi-finals shall come on Friday, 20th August 2026.

Most finals will be played on Saturday, 21st August 2026, also the official closing ceremony at the Jamhuri stadium in the heart of Morogoro city.

Tanzania (hosts) are joined by Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and Burundi in these games.
