After the 11th hour cancellation of their warm up game with Namilyango Tigers, Vipers Sports Club opted for another match in Katabi zone on Wednesday.

The venoms overcame Nkumba Super Eagles 2-0 at the Wagagai play ground in Kasenyi.

Forwards Mousa Mbayi and Erisa Ssekisambu found the goals  during the first half of the well-attended match that also marked the official opening of the Nkumba – Bendegele branch.

Mbayi scored the opener in the 18th minute, beating goalie Jackson Kigozi from close range, off a goal melee.

Two minutes later, over lapping left back Yayo Lutimba, a recruit from Express crossed for Ssekisambu to double the lead.

Second half substitute Steven Mukwala, who had replaced Mbayi after 65 minutes was later brought down in the forbidden area.

The Ssingo Ssaza forward lifted up himself  to hurriedly take the resultant penalty only to be denied.
