Steven Mukwala scored his first Uganda Premier League during Vipers 2-0 win against promoted Masavu at the Fisheries Training Institute playground in Bugonga, Entebbe.

The robust and gangly center forward was signed from Edgars Youth Academy where he had spent close to 5 seasons.

Mukwala has vowed to fight for a starting slot on the star studded side and maintain the scoring touch.

I am happy to be at Vipers Sports Club.

We are one happy family and ready to work hard to maintain a starting slot on the team.

My first league goal at the club was long overdue. I vow to work hard and score so often.

Born 19 years ago in Kasese, Mukwala has of late been playing with Ssingo Ssaza team in the Airtel Masaza Cup tournament where he finished joint top scorer with 8 goals.

Ssingo was second to eventual winners Gomba after losing 1-0 in the well contested final.

The young striker is glad for the teamwork spirit at Vipers, an important ingrident in team bonding.

We are all a happy family. The team is united and I have settled in well with the rest of my fellow players.

Mukwala’s former coach at Edgars Youth Football Academy, Arthur Kyesmira signs praise of the young forward.

Steven (Mukwala) is disciplined on and off the pitch.

He is fast, good on one on ones, can shoot with both feet, quality heading abilities.

He is a potential goal scoring great, and he wears the face of a winner in games.

He has the ability to develop into one of the best strikers in the country and in the region of East Africa.
