Shafiq Bisaso has been named as head coach at Express Football Club on Monday.
The CAF ‘A’ licensed coach which rich footballing knowledge was officially unveiled at the club offices located in Mutundwe, a suburb of Kampala City.
The development comes days after ‘management pushed to the wall’ the former coach Douglas Bamweyana, until his resignation last week.
In absence of the ill chairperson, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi who is out of the country for medication and rest, the ceremony to usher in Bisaso was conducted by the vice chairman Hajji Kamudas.
Kamudas introduced Bisaso to the eagerly awaiting media;
Allow me to introduce to you coach Shafiq Bisaso. As the club, we have entrusted Bisaso with our club. We believe, that he is the right man to propel our club to the next level.
In his brief address, Bisaso, who has formerly handed SC Villa Jogoo, Fire Masters, Masavu and lately Soana tagged the opportunity to serve Express as a ‘big test’.
I am happy to come here for work.
It is a big test ahead of me.
I am not here because because i have friends at Express but because of hard work. Therefore, i am ready for the task.

Bamweyana resigned his job at Express citing interference in his work tasks from management and a couple of senior players.
The Red Eagles have struggled this season, as they are now 13th on the 16 team log.
During his era as Express head coach, Bamweyana handled the club in 9 matches, losing 5 times as well as drawing and losing twice apiece.
The Red Eagles under Bamweyana have lost to Mbarara (away) UPDF (away), Onduparaka (home), BUL (away) and lately Masavu (home).
They won 2-0 against Maroons and Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) 1-0.
The draws have come against Kirinya-Jinja S.S and Bright Stars.
Last Saturday, Express came from a goal down to defeat Proline 2-1 at the Star Times stadium, Lugogo.
Bisaso will work with club legend Hassan Mubiru and Sam Kawalya as the immediate assistants.
Kawalya and Mubiru handled the club during their win at Proline.
Bisaso’s immediate task at hand include bringing to sanity the dressing room and management that looked divided at all times.
Express hosts table leaders Police on Tuesday in the immediate game at hand.
Three days later, Express will make the trip to Masaka where they will face traditional rivals, Express.
Against Sports Club Villa Jogoo, Bisaso will be facing a club that he once served.
