After two years of frustrating attempts, Julius Mugambwa has finally clinched his maiden 4×4 challenge title.

Mugambwa, co-driven by Sean Oseku, entered the season finale with only one point separating him from second placed Frank Tatya.

However, he steadily maneuvered through the challenging Ssisa track to claim the lead which automatically sent him to the title.

“It’s been a very competitive season with just a point separating us before the final event.

“But we knew our strategy was solid and surely it didn’t disappoint,” said Mugambwa.

In the three seasons, Mugambwa attests this year has been the most exciting season for the crew.

“The 2017 season presented unfamiliar tracks which made the competition stiff. From Nsimbe to Mbalala. And for the first time to the at Island in Kalangala and finally Ssisa.

“We really had fun exploring new tracks and proving ourselves in the cockpit that we could take on anyone any where,” he asserted.

Mugambwa’s main rival Frank Tatya managed to finish third overall behind Christian Milleti.
