Left footed winger Baker ‘Bakerazy’ Lukooya has joined Kenya Premier League outfit, AFC Leopards on a two year deal.

The development was confirmed by the player’s father Hajji Abdul Lukooya Ssekabira, also a FUFA delegate.

“Baker (Lukooya) has joined AFC Leopards in Kenya. We wish him the very best in life” Ssekabira, who is now in Zambia with the Uganda U-20 team as team manager said.

Lukooya, 23, transfers from Uganda Premier side, Soana Football Club.

At Soana, Lukooya had served the club for one and a half years following his transfer from Bright Stars F.C.

Before joining Bright Stars, he had previously played at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and Kiira Young Football Club.

At Bright Stars, he is best remembered for the incredible wonder over head kick in their 2-1 win over BUL at the Champions Stadium in Mwererwe (He dedicated the stunning goal to the beloved mother).

Lukooya boosts of an enviable left foot with special abilities to beat the very next opponent with the ease of a heavy object freely bowing to gravitational forces.

He has close ball control and can pass the ball (long and short) with excellent shooting abilities like most left footed gems world over.

Lukooya, too, plays beach soccer and he is a member of the Uganda national beach soccer team (Sand Cranes) and has also played with the Uganda Cranes in a couple of regional and upcountry tours.

At AFC Leopards, he joins the bandwagon of new recruits like Ezekiel Odera (Nairobi City Stars), Ezekiel Owade from Nakumatt FC, Ezekiel Otuoma and Brian Marita both from Western Stima as AFC Leopards prepares for a new season.

AFC Leopards is set to represent Kenya in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup (winner of the 2017 Gotv shield cup).

He is expected to join his new club for the pre-season training in January 2018.
