Heathens poor run of form continued as Rugby Premiership defending champions fell to Rhinos 20-13 at Kyadondo on Saturday.
Simon Okwera got the hosts’ first points on the board through a penalty and Kevin Makmot responded in equal measure for Rhinos.
Martial Tchumkam forced it over the line for Rhino’s first try and Makmot added the extras for the visitors to lead 10-3.
Rhinos were penalized for offside and Okwera went for the sticks again to cut Heathens deficit to four (06-10) but Jasper Onen restored Rhino’s 7-points lead with a drop kick.
In the second, Michael Amolo intercepted a ball from the center and raced through for Rhinos’ second try and Makmot added the rest and the lead was 20-06.
Okwera touched down for Heathens and Chris Lubanga converted to create a tense finish but the hosts eventually succumbed.
The loss was Heathens’ third in as many games having fallen prey to Buffaloes and Pirates in their last two outings.
