Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club terminated the services of head coach Ibrahim ‘Uchumi’ Kirya on Tuesday night.

Kirya was sacked alongside his other support staff including the first assistant James Odoch and goalkeeping coach Sadiq Wassa

This followed a management decision after a series of unconvincing results by the tax collectors.

“We shall make a detailed statement later in the day,” head of technical staff at the club, Kaduyu told Kawowo Sports.

The sacking happened just hours after URA was held to a 1-1 draw by Mbarara City at Mandela National Stadium, stadium.

This was the first time that Mbarara City scored their first away goal since being promoted from the FUFA Big League.

The club chief executive officer, Edward Kulubya totally disregarded the news.

“Kirya is still the coach. We have not made a conclusive statement but the public will get notified about what is happening at the club,” Kulubya said.

Paul ‘Latest’ Nkata and Hamza Kalanzi have already taken over as head and assistant coaches respectively.

The duo attended the club’s Wednesday morning session at Gayaza.

Nkata’s immediate test is at home to Onduparaka this Friday as most clubs wind up the first round.

In 14 matches played so far, URA has registered 6 wins, 4 draws and losses apiece as they languish in 5th place with 22 points.
