Kakuba also tags the moment as a huge stride towards the development of his otherwise promising career.

He was among the 23 players that Uganda Cranes head coach, Sebastien Desabre named on Wednesday in preparation for the national team’s upcoming international friendly matches.

The former Proline Football Club, who also featured for Mawogola Ssaza in the famous Bika Bya Baganda football competition, testified to Kawowo Sports in an exclusive interview;

This is really a great opportunity for me as a football. I am too excited for the chance given once again.

Further Career development:

Many professional footballers will attest and bear witness opportunities are easily presented and granted to players with a bulk of national team cap to their name.

In the same school of thought, Kakuba believes adding to the two caps already previously earned and attaining more minutes under his belt with the national team is an impetus to further boosting of his career;

Calling me again to the national team means a lot especially to the development of my career.

In professional football especially in Europe, national team players are given a special consideration.

I am honored and will take the chance will both hands.

Eager to play before home fans:

For more than five years away from home, Kakuba is eager and ready to play once again before the home fans.

I am happy that we shall be playing the international build ups at home.

I am also looking forward to play before the home fans.

Most people have taken time to see me physically in action. This will be the chance.

The other left back on the team summoned is experienced Gor Mahia player, Godfrey ‘Jajja Walu’ Walusimbi.

The international games against Malawi and a yet to be identified country will be coach Desabre’s opportunity to have a critical look at many of the foreign based players.

Only four locally based players were summoned on the 23 man team – Nico Wakiro Wadada, Milton Karisa (both Vipers), KCCA defender Timothy Denis Awany and Masavu’s prodigal son and captain, Abraham Ndugwa.

This weekend, Kakuba and the rest of his C.D. Feirense teammates will face Rio Ave Football Club.
