Proscovia who will represent Uganda at next month’s Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia is pleased with the appointment.

“I am very happy to be named as the first ambassador for Netball World Cup 2019,” she said as quoted by the official tournament website.

“Netball has brought me to a place I never dreamed of and it is a great honour to be part of this sport and represent my country at the highest level.

“Netball is a sport that can help open ways for people to achieve anything they want in life – where I am now is because of netball so I am looking forward to working with the Netball World Cup team to show our wonderful sport at its best.”

The World Cup will take place from July 12-21, 2019 at Liverpool’s Echo Arena in England.
