To many relatives, friends and well wishers, they keep hopeful that Kaaya will get well soon.

A successful fundraising drive held in February 2018 started by Kaaya’s childhood friend, Mathias Lukwago generated close to Shs5M for his treatment.

For several weeks now, Kaaya has been in and out of the hospital responding to treatment as well as the recommended bed rest.

Fast rising sports publication, Sports Fan Magazine has offered 2000 copies (which will raise Shs10M if all sold) specifically for Kaaya.

Each of these copies costs 5000/= with all the money realized channeled to the welfare of Kaaya and family.

During a press conference held on Thursday at Land Star Hotel in Makindye, the Magazine Head  of Operations, Saddam Senoga made the announcement.

Senoga noted;

Sports Fan Magazine has offered 2000 copies that will be sold off with the proceedings from the sales going in the save Kaaya’s treasury. The magazine is available at all football stadia and sold during matches as well as in major super markets.

Harold Luswata, the Marketing Manager of the magazine confirmed the move was purely made as a humanitarian call.

Visibly weak and skinned up, Kaaya himself expressed gratitude for the timely offer and thanked everyone who has helped him in this trying time.

I thank everyone who has come to my help during these challenging times.

Lukwago, who also doubles as the President of Uganda Cycling Federation and the International Scouts and Guides Fellowship body, has stood by Kaaya in these moments bought 40 copies (costing Shs. 200,000) but offered the magazines back to the market to raise more money for Kaaya.

He called for continued support for Kaaya;

Kaaya needs more help. We call upon everyone to come and assist in this noble cause.

The former cranes star Ausi Kaaya has been bed ridden for more than one year due to complications in his lungs.

More assistance can still be channeled via mobile money on the two available mobile phone numbers registered in Ausi Kaaya’s names (0782303124 and 0703538126).
