Cricket Cranes managed to defend only 90 against Jersey enroute to winning the Division 4 World Cricket League tournament as well as gaining promotion to Division 3.
In a game that was rescheduled from Saturday due to the first encounter being washed out, Jersey needed a big win against Uganda if they are overcome their superior net run.
Jersey won the toss and asked the Cricket Cranes to bat first a decision that seemed to be a good one as the Ugandans were quickly reduced to 24/5 in 11 overs. A rare guard resistance by Kenneth Waiswa (34) and Riazat Shah (22) helped the Cricket Cranes finish on 89 all out.
On a spin friendly UKM Oval, the spin of Uganda led by Irfan Afridi never let Jersey have any chance of batting for the win. Veteran Frank Nsubuga (4/20) was the pick of the spinners and his young brother Roger Mukasa cleaned up the tail with three wickets for only seventy runs.
The loss blew any chance Jersey of even leaping over Denmark into second and claim the other spot for qualification.
Uganda and Denmark thus qualify for Division 3 to be held later this year and the two join Oman, USA, Singapore and fellow East Africans Kenya.
