Kampala Regional Girls’ Football Qualifiers (Semifinals)

Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga stunned national champions Gaddafi Integrated Academy to reach the final of the Kampala Region girls’ football qualifiers.

The Lubaga based side put up a resilient performance to overcome the reigning national champions winning the game 1-0 on Thursday.

Latifah Nakasi scored the all important goal to guide Uganda Martyrs past Gaddafi Integrated Academy.

Uganda Martyrs are returning from a one year suspension for fielding of ineligible players during the 2017 East Africa Secondary Schools championship that was held in Gulu district.

In the other semifinal also played on Thursday, record champions Kawempe Muslim SS defeated Katuuso Community winning the game 2-0.

Anita Namata and Juliet Nalukenge both national team (Crested Cranes) players scored a goal each to help Kawempe storm the final.

Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Martyrs High School will face off in the final slated for Thursday at Old Kampala SS.

Katuuso Community, Gaddafi Integrated, Kawempe Muslim and Uganda Martyrs High School will all represent Kampala region at the National tournament in Mbale district next month.
