- KIU Titans 60-71 Power

The Friday night match between Power and KIU Titans was as rough to the eye as it comes. For basketball enthusiasts, it was far from enjoyable.
While Power played power basketball and won, KIU did nothing deliberate on offence. It’s no surprise Denis Balungu’s was visible raising hands in acknowledgement of fouls.
The opening two quarters were close with KIU edging the second 19-18 for a 32-31 lead after a square opening ten minutes.
However, after the long break, it was Power that got better as KIU got worse. As Titans missed their forced shots in the third quarter, Power quietly built a lead that they never relinquished.
Sam Agutu laid in and Syrus Kiviiri pulled up to put Power’s lead in double digits early in the final quarter. KIU came within 3 points after an 8-0 run but Geoffrey Soro and Philip Ameny iced the game with easy twos.
Soro, who was also the player of the game, tallied game high 22 points and Kiviiri added 16.
Bwanga, the only Titans to reach double figures in scoring, had 15 points and Collin Kasujja scored 9.
KIU Titans face champions City Oilers in their next game on Friday, April 26 while Power battle promising JKL the day after.
