1st Semi-final Uganda Cup | Return Leg

Proline 1-2 Kyetume  (Aggregate: 3-3)

FUFA Big League side Proline Football Club progressed to their first ever Uganda Cup finals.

The Lugogo based club coached by Shafik Bisaso confirmed their slot after a 4-3 post penalty victory at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo on Sunday.

This followed a 3-3 aggregate win over the two legs after Kyetume had won the return leg 2-1 to equalize the scores.

During the return leg, Cephas Kabugu scored a first half penalty to give Kyetume the lead.

Proline equalized through Ibrahim Bonyo before veteran midfielder Patrick Ochan headed home Kyetume’s second goal.

In the shoot out, Kambugu, Ssentongo scored for Kyetume as Vincent Kayizzi Walugembe and Benon Tahomera missed their kicks.

Proline’s Musitafa Mujjuzi, Joseph Mandela, Bright Anukani and Hakim Kiwanuka scored their respective kicks.

Only James Begesa missed.

Proline will await the winner of the second semi-final between Express and Bright Stars.

The two Uganda Premier League clubs will face off this Wednesday, 8th May 2019 at the Mutesa II Wankulukuku during the return leg.

The first leg played at the Champions Stadium, Mwererwe ended one goal apiece.

The final of this year’s Uganda Cup will be played on May 25th at the Masaka Recreational Stadium.

The winner of the Uganda Cup is assured of a slot to represent the country at the CAF Confederation Cup.
