Police right-back Paul Willa has agreed on terms with three-time champions Vipers despite KCCA showing an early interest in the player.

The Ugandan youth international is arguably one of the best right backs in the domestic league at the moment and Mike Mutebi; the KCCA manager had earlier hinted he will be the club’s only signing.

“We shall not sign many new players but bring back one of our own, Paul Willa from Police Football club.  He has looked well and improved a lot since he left us,” Mike Mutebi said in May.

Willa, a youth product of the KCCA junior side has spent two and half years at Police where he made the right-back position his own.

It’s understood that the Lugogo based failed to meet the demands of the player including paying on fees.

At Vipers, Willa is viewed as a perfect replacement for Nicholas Wadada who quit the club at the end of the 2017/18 campaign after failing to land one previously.

Last season, Vipers used natural center backs Bashir Asiku, Ibrahim Kiyemba and Geoffrey Wasswa with Burundi right back Karim Niyizigimana overlooked despite joining the club in January.
