Kibuli Secondary School was unstoppable on match day one of the 2023 Kampala region USSSA boys football championship (Makindye zone).
The reigning East African schools football champions humiliated Maranantha S.S 11-0 in a one-sided duel played at Kibuli S.S playground.
Forward Kenneth Kimera single handedly led the damage as he scored a haul (four goals).
Charles Batibwe added the misery with a brace. The other goals came from Juma Sajjabi, Derrick Kirungi, Express F.C’s Dawson Mafumu, David Busuulwa and a penalty from second half substitute Shafik Magogo.
The massive result and overall performance was a strong message of intent to the rest of the opposition in Makindye zone, Kampala region and the entire country at large.

“In football, a game completed can only help you to prepare for the next game (s) coming up. My players should now think and plan of the next opponent (s).” Recoba who is deputized by Moses “Muko” Kayemba noted.

Despite the heavy loss, Maranantha S.S had recorded a 2-1 victory over St MBUGA Vocational school.
St MBUGA Vocational piped St Peters Nsambya 1-0.
Buziga Islamic suffered mixed fortures, winning one (2-1) over St Denis Ssebugwawo and falling by the same margin to Kakungulu Memorial school.
St. Janan Luwum had two victories; 2-1 over Goldstar High and 1- over St. Denis Ssebugwawo.
The contest between Goldstar High and St. Peters Nsambya S.S ended all square; 2-goals apiece.
The matches resume on Thursday, 23rd March 2023 at various playgrounds within Makindye division.
In one of the eagerly awaited contests is the derby duel between Kibuli S.S and Kakungulu Memorial at Kibuli S.S playground (11 am).
The best schools in Makindye division will make the grade to qualify for the Kampala region championship as the quest to determine who makes it for nationals in May 2023 rages on.
