WestVille High School Football team managed to win bronze at the USSSA Elite Schools tournament held in Jinja city.

2024 USSSA Elite Schools’ Tournament:

Football – Boys:

  • Bronze medal match: WestVille High School 2-0 Kawempe Muslim S.S
  • Gold medal match: Jinja S.S 0 (4) – 0 (5) Jinja S.S

Girls Football:

  • Gold: Kawempe Muslim S.S
  • Silver: Bon Consil S.S
  • Bronze: St Noa Girls School, Zzana

It was all smiles that WestVille High School had something to be proud of by close of business for the 2024 USSSA Elite Schools championship in Jinja City.

The Fort Portal based school scooped bronze after a comprehensive 2-0 win over Kawempe Muslim Secondary School during the third-place play-off match at Kakindu stadium.

Mustafa Oloya and Allan Muhilizi scored for WestVille High School.

WestVille High School had lost 1-0 to Jinja S.S in the semi-finals having also fallen to Jinja Progressive Academy 0-3 in one of the group stage matches.

They had opened with a 2-1 win over seasoned Standard High School Zzana at the Jinja S.S playground courtesy of Emmanuel Onyango and Mustafa Oloyo’s goals.

George Mweba got the consolation for Standard High School, Zzana.

“The USSSA Elite Schools tournament has very good for us. It has helped us prepare as a unit. We are assembling a team and we have got the desired test (measure). We have benefited in a way or another. Taking home a bronze medal is also good motivation” Wyclef “Coach Pro” Kabiito stated.

Kabiito was working alongside Asuman Luziga and Frank Boona on the technical docket of WestVille High School.

Meanwhile, JIPRA won the gold medal after their 5-4 post-match penalty victory over rivals Jinja S.S in the final.

JIPRA goalkeeper Adrian Isabirye was the hero with a save in the shoot-out as the rest of his teammates all scored.

In girls’ football, Kawempe Muslim School came top after round robin format to take gold.

Bon Consil School was second for silver and St Noa Girls School Zzana managed bronze.

Bukedea Comprehensive School won both the male and female gold medals in Volleyball.

Buddo Secondary School came top in Netball. There was also action in Basketball (3X3 and 5×5) and Handball.
