Nigeria Super Eagles booked the first berth in the AFCON 2023 semi-finals on-going in Cote D’Ivoire.

Lookman Ademola Olajade Alade Aylola scored the lone goal as Nigeria beat Angola 1-0 at the Stade Felix Houphouet in Boigny on Friday, February 2, 2024.

The Atlanta forward taped home the lone strike after a decent cut back from the left by Moses Daddy Ajala Simon of Nantes in France.

Nigeria missed the opportunity to double the lead when Victor Oshimen’s header was cancelled out for offside in the 73rd minute after VAR interference.

Democratic Republic of Congo faced Guinea in the second quarter final at the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe.

Other duels:

Mali will play Cote D’Ivory in the third quarter final at Stade Bouake on Saturday, 3rd February 2024 (8:00 PM).

Cape Verde will take on South Africa in the last quarter final duel at the Stade Charles Konan Banny de Yamoussoukro.
