Overview:
Ceferin will once again visit the famous Acholi Quarters, Aliguma Foundation center in Masindi, the Joe Kigozi Football Academy and will hold meetings with First Lady Hon. Janet Kataha Museveni (Minister of Education and Sports) and other high profile officials.
Last March, Aleksander Ceferin, the president of the Union of European of Football Association (UEFA) traveled to Uganda, East Africa.
Ceferin was honoring the invitation of the Aliguma Foundation after UEFA’s support to the Ugandan Community Based Organization through the sports for resilience project.
Along with his entourage, Ceferin was welcomed by Ritah Aliguma, director of Aliguma Foundation; the state minister for sports Hon. Peter Ogwang, the chairman of National Council of Sports (NCS) Ambrose Tashobya, NCS general secretary Dr.Bernard Patrick Ogwel and other officials.

The visiting delegation toured the Aliguma Foundation projects in Acholi Quarters, a slum in Banda – Kampala city suburb and watched the climax of a football tournament involving children from impoverished backgrounds.
Eleven months down the road, Ceferin is returning to Uganda courtesy of the Aliguma Foundation and an official invite from the Parliament of Uganda.
He is expected to be in the country on 12th February 2024 and will lead the delegation to play a charity football match against the Parliament of Uganda.

“We are excited to be hosting the president of UEFA Alexsander Ceferin once again. We shall update him about the projects under the Aliguma Foundation. He is also expected to lead his delegation in a football match against the Parliament of Uganda” Aliguma revealed to Kawowo Sports Media.
Ceferin will captain his delegation that will also have UEFA legends against the Parliament of Uganda team during a charity match at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende (Wakiso District) on 12th February 2024.


The team for the Parliament of Uganda has intensified their training sessions and will have key additions as the global winning music artist, Eddie Kenzo Musuuza.
