Alvin Birungi an offensive-explosive midfielder who ably plays in the interior and on the wings. His lightening pace-like speed is always an added impetus as he eludes the opposition with the ease of cutlery through butter.

Lugazi Football Club, an entity in the BetPawa FUFA Big League confirmed yet another signing in the secondary player transfer window, the exciting Alvin Birungi.

Birungi, 17, is the latest player recruited by the club bankrolled by the Kawuulu Foundation and Electronic Network Services.

The new recruit is an offensive explosive midfielder who ably plays in the interior and on the wings.

His lightening pace-like speed is always an added impetus as he eludes the opposition with the ease of cutlery through butter.

Birungi who is also very strong with aerial prowess penned a three-year employment contract with “The Rangers”.

His football journey can be traced right from Kiwatule Parents Primary school before proceeding to Bombo Senior Secondary School for Ordinary Level of education and now at St Mark’s College – Namagoma in senior six.

Birungi’s football skills were harnessed at Kampala Galaxy Academy and lately Ntinda United Football Club.

He has already been tested by Lugazi FC having featured in the build-up against StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Gaddafi at the Gaddafi Arena on Monday, February 5, 2024.

Birungi replaced Moses “Hitler” Buga in the second stanza of the game that Gaddafi won 2-1.

Other signings:

Lugazi Football Club also recruited experienced left back Richard Ayiko, midfielder Ali Bayo Arshavin and a young left winger Juma Sajjabi.

Ayiko has been a free-agent that he was released by BUL Football Club.

Bayo has previously featured at Sports Club Villa whilst Sajjabi is a student at Kibuli Secondary School (in S6).

Under promotion specialist, Richard Makumbi, Lugazi Football Club has a target of qualifying to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for the 2024-2025 season.
