- URA vs KCCA – Mehta Grounds, Lugazi
- Soltilo Bright Stars vs Police – Kavumba
URA clash with KCCA for a place in the quarter finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup in a highly anticipated fixture on Monday at Lugazi.
Both teams come into the game on the back of victories in the league and this will be the first time this campaign that they face a side from the top tier.
David Obua’s side beat Maroons 2-0 in their last outing at Lugazi and he believes carrying same mentality and performance will see them get past the Kasasiro who beat his side 3-2 in the league earlier this season.
“We played well in the last game and we won,” said Obua. “The game isn’t about revenge but the target is win and I am confident in our abilities,” he added.
For Mubiru, all that matters is progress since it’s a knock out competition and confidently goes into the game after dispatching NEC 3-0 at Lugogo in their last league outing.
“It’s not an easy game against a good team but we have prepared well and understand the importance of the game and we shall do our best to progress,” Mubiru.
Both teams have absentees who are with the national U20 side in Innocent Kisolo and Bruno Bunyanga for the hosts and then Usama Arafat and Haruna Lukwago for the visitors.
At Kavumba, Soltilo Bright Stars host last season’s losing cup finalist Police FC in a Kavumba derby.
