Autistic children undergo different therapies, refresh with various sports in the house play-area and are trained vocational skills.
Residents in Kasubi – Kabuubu zone A Local council in Manyangwa, Wakiso district have a treasure in famous powerlifter Roy Mubiru.
The U.S based icon officially opened up the Roy Mubiru Foundation home in the area aforementioned.
Among the special guests on the day were Mubiru’s biological parents; David Ssewakiryanga, 62 and Justine Nakabugo, 69; family members, foundation officials, children affected with Autism, local residents and the media.

“We thank God for giving us children among whom is Roy Mubiru who has excelled in sports and shared with many others. He is not selfish and has helped many more people to be better” Ssewakiryanga attested.

This home is to help house autism-affected children as they continue with their therapies, confidence building and being trained with vocational skills.
“Autism is not a disability; but a special ability” asserts Martha Namazzi Kiyingi, a teacher handling children with Autism.
“This is a very safe place where the children will have their therapies, to build their confidence levels and help with learning vocational skills” Namazzi added.

Shamiru Batte, the team leader at Roy Mubiru Foundation lauded the CEO Mubiru for the sacrifice, dedication and commitment to have the project running.
“In a special way, I want to thank Roy Mubiru for having the foundation at heart. He stays in the U.S but it is like he is on the ground. We communicate often and he has special love for the project. May God bless him for the generous heart” Batte commended.
The Foundation home at the moment currently houses five children affected with Autism.
