Uganda Premier League outfit Vipers and coach Livingstone Mbabazi have reportedly parted ways. The gaffer replaced Leonard Neiva on a two-year employment contract.
Kawowo Sports understands that the development was due to Mbabazi’s failure to apologise after absconding from duty.
For starters, Mbabazi was not present in the game they beat regional side Iganga Young 3-0 in the Uganda Cup at the round of 16.
A source close to the club says that the former Arua Hill boss had last been seen at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende last Thursday when they shared spoils with Soltilo Bright Stars.
The gaffer then turned up on Wednesday as the team was already warming up prior to the Uganda Cup tie something that did not go well with the club’s hierarchy thus asking Mbabazi to leave and only return with an apology.
However, it looks like Mbabazi will not bend to penning an apology which simply means he has opened the exit door from the club.
Mbabazi has been in charge of six games at the club, four being league games (two wins and two losses) while other two were Uganda Cup ties.
Vipers lie third on the log with 32 points gathered from 32 games. Their next encounter will be against Wakiso Giants on Sunday, March 10.
