As many as 64 schools will compete in the 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ankole Zone Football Championship.

The Ankole zone football championship will take place in Ibanda district, kicking off on 10th April 2024.

Favourites Welden School from Mbarara city are drawn in Group G with Kaaro High School, Nombe SS and Bugarama High School.

Nyakera United Secondary School, an entity coached by goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekeba is in group I with Buremba S.S, St Peter’s Katukuru and Al Noor.

Western region giants Ryakasinga CHE from Rukungiri district is in Group A alongside Kinoni High School, Nakivale S.S and Peas Aspire High School.

Ntungamo’s shining star Muntuyera High School is in Group L with three other schools; Rwenyaga S.S, St Andrew’s Rubindi and Kitagata S.S.

The Ankole zone has schools from Mbarara City, Ntungamo, Ibanda, Bushenyi, Kazo, Isingiro, Buhweju and Kiruhura districts.

The top three schools will qualify for the nationals which will be played in Masaka city.
