Overview:

Black Star Football Club has a very humble beginning having started as a non-league entity. Sooner than later, the club intends to break the walls as they aim to join a league and competitive business with the ability to export players to external markets.

A famous Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Amondi Nyong’o for the record is quoted; “No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid”.

Having featured in the her latest film (2024): “A quiet place – Day one” where she starred as Sam, Nyong’o made the aforementioned remarks when she saw South Sudanese model Alek Wek become successful.

Speaking of South Sudan, a football brand is steadily garnering steam. This is Black Star Football Club that recruits players from 15 to 19 years of age.

Black Star Football Club is a non-league entity based in Mahad township near the famous Konyo Konyo market, Juba city.

The club owes its founding roots five years ago in 2019; thanks to the brevity of General Paulino Jijiyo, a military officer-cum-politician.

General Jijiyo started the club merely to gather youth together with the prime objective of killing boredom by creating a recreational hobby to keep busy.

Now, the target is far-fetched; way above the bare minimum of now dreams of establishing a competitive club, one that will vie for silverware in a league of sorts as well as market talents.

General Paulino Jijiyo, the president of Black Star Football Club

“Black Star Football Club has a very humble beginning. We started as a non-league club but soon we shall break the walls to become competitive and also be able to export players” General Jijiyo states.

Like Nyong’o boldly stated, General Jijiyo’s vivid dream remains relevant and valid until he reaches the “promised land” and emphatically crosses the finishing line with ultimate victory.

The club experienced two years of less activity (2020 and 2021) due to the global COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged the entire world.

Business resumed in 2022 and garnered steam in 2023 todate under the technical guidance of Rooney Marteo, Ismail Kongi Moggah, Micheal Jidu and other personnel.

“Our target is be as competitive as possible and be able to join an organized league in South Sudan with the goals of developing players and exposing them to external markets for visibility” General Jijiyo adds.

Black Star Football Club’s primary colours entail yellow, black and white. The Star embedded in the club’s logo spells and reflects a gloss of prosperity and development.
