USSSA Boys Football 2024 (Round of 32):

  • Amus College School 5-0 Paidha SS

Amus College School majestically strolled to the round of 16 stage at the on-going USSSA boys’ football competition in Masaka city.

A comprehensive 5-0 win over West Nile region based Paidha SS was the convincing result that Amus College recorded at the Muteesa playground.

The news belonged to one character in Hakim Musaaba who scored all the five goals during this game.

Musaaba took his personal tally of goals to ten and leads the rest of the scorers.

Amus College School head coach Nimrod Kintu singled out the clean sheet element in this victory.

“The win was crucial but the clean sheet was more important. I thank the players as we continue to move on” Kintu whose side progressed to the round of 16 stage stated.

In other round of 32 duels, Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) defeated Fort Portal SS 4-0 while Jinja SS eliminated Kibuli SS 4-2 in post-match penalties after a goalless draw in normal time.

Another Jinja city school, Jinja Comprehensive bundled out London College 4-2 in post match penalties after a non-scoring draw in normal play.

Shakur Luyombo, Ronnie Mujasi, George William Ikwangati and Uthuman Kisubi scored the penalties for Jinja Comprehensive School in the tense shoot-out.

Buddo SS ejected out Bukedea Comprehensive School 1-0 courtesy of Dennis Nsereko’s soletary strike.

Defending champions St Mary’s Kitende out-smarted St Charles Lwanga Kasasa 2-0.

Dennis Luzige and Useni Kizito scored for Kitende at the Masaka Recreational Stadium.

Nakaseke International pipped Nkoma SS 1-0 at the Kitovu 2 playground.

Hosts Masaka SS edged rivals St Henry’s College Kitovu (SHACK) 4-3 in post match penalties after normal time had ended 0-0.

St Julian overcame Kyadondo SS 3-1 at the Masaka SS playground. James Ssekatte, Elisa Mukisa and Patrick Ssenkusu scored for St Julian High School Seeta.

Meanwhile, the round of 16 matches and other classification contests will take place on Thursday, 2nd May 2024.
