Team Uganda was handled the incredible duo of Aziz Yakub and Jimmy Remmie Orotin whose unquestionable work ethic, enviable chemistry and technical understanding of the game has continued to woo hundreds of neutralists.

The pair (Yakub and Orotin) expertly planned for each game ahead as the team gallantly displayed a spirited performance when they won four of the five matches played in Ethiopia’s capital city, Addis Ababa.

Uganda scored 209 goals in the five matches played and conceded 133 goals.

They opened with a 43- 17 victory over horn of Africa nation, Somalia. Uganda was merciless in the 56-21 win over neighbours Tanzania before edging the hosts Ethiopia 42-40 in a narrow victory to finish the group stages unscratched.

In the semi-final, Uganda condemned Burundi 43-29, strolling to the final against Rwanda.

The only grey patch for Uganda was that narrow glitch, falling by a single goal; 26-25 during the physical and the well contested final.

We need to have a number of competitive games back home so that our players get used to that environment of competing at the highest levels and frequently playing under high pressure games. This will boost our self confidence, decision making and approach to tougher games.
