KCCA FC suffered the first defeat of the season, falling to neighbours NEC FC on Thursday at MTN-Omondi Stadium.

Veteran midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba aka Fanta scored the lone goal of the game to guide NEC to victory.

Mutyaba who was facing his former pay masters scored a spectacular goal in the 19th minute and this eventually was deciding moment of a closely contested encounter.

Muhammad Hassan lost possession to Mutyaba and the latter released Paul Mucureezi on the right wing.

Mucureezi who is also a former KCCA FC player took his time before laying a cut back for Mutyaba at the edge of the box and he hit the ball with full force into the back of the net.

Despite efforts from KCCA FC, NEC FC were dominant and the better side on the night with James Jarieko wrecking havoc especially on the left wing.

The result takes NEC FC top of the pile on 19 points, one ahead of KCCA FC.
