Defender Elio Capradossi has made a surprise return to Uganda Cranes fold ahead of the forthcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Capradossi who plies for Italian Serie B outfit AC Citadella was initially not part of the Uganda Cranes squad summoned last week due to an injury.

While announcing the squad on Monday last week, coach Paul Put confirmed Capradossi and Halid Lwaliwa were left out due to injuries.

Indeed Capradossi had not featured for Citadella in recent weeks until this weekend when he was unused substitute in their 2-1 loss to Leaders Sassuolo.

However, the defender has on Monday morning joined Uganda Cranes camp in Cairo, Egypt, confirming his availability for selection.

It should be noted that the calm and composed defender who made his debut last year against Botswana has missed Uganda Cranes recent engagements due to injuries.

He missed the double header against South Sudan despite being summoned but was also sidelined in the final AFCON Qualifier games against South Africa and Congo.

Uganda will face Mozambique this Thursday at the Cairo International Stadium before taking on Guinea on Tuesday next at Mandela National Stadium.
